Isla Del Rey

Located off the Pacific coast of Panama, Isla del Rey is the largest island of the Las Perlas Archipelago. EcoPlan was contracted by a local development group to provide Land Use Analysis and Land Planning services for this 1000 Hectare property that is largely uninhabited. The approved Master Plan is slated to have a 2000m airstrip, 5 and 6 star resorts, low-density resort housing, 2 potential golf courses and a marina. EcoPlan’s detailed inventory and analysis identified ecologically sensitive areas throughout the development, and carefully integrated a sensible land development solution that strives to minimize impact on the native landscape and culture while maximizing the resort and community guest experience. The project is slated to break ground in late 2007.
